Purchase Information
Buying the best hand warmers isn’t rocket science. Sure there are a lot of options to choose from, but in reality, there isn’t much different between them. Apart from the different heat times. To make sure you’re buying the best brands check off our listed features below:
- Expiration Dates. Should be at least 2 years in the future. Anything less than this and your heat packs may not heat up as intended or last the full time.
- Heat Delays. Many of us have been mistaken in thinking our hand warmers were defective when they were not. Most hand warmers take a few minutes to heat up so be patient when you use them.
- Delivery Methods. Need to be gentle and items handled as if fragile. If rough delivery methods are used then the hand warmers might ignite during delivery and will be all burnt out by the time they arrive.
Remember that the best hand warmers need ambient air to activate. For the best heat, you’ll want to take them out of their packaging and leave them in open air for 10-15 minutes. The air stimulates them to create the heat, so they’ll be much more effective than if you put them straight into your pockets after opening them.
Top 3 Best Hand Warmers Reviews
1. HotHands Body & Hand Super Warmers

These hand warmers are pocket sized – not gloved sized. There’s a huge difference between the two sizes as well, so don’t mistake them. We prefer pocket-sized warmers as their heat is kept close to the body and also serves to heat up our core – not just our hands.
Glove sized warmers, although handy because they fit into winter gloves… tend not to feel as warm or heat up our fingers. Pocket-sized warmers have the advantage of creating a warm ‘pocket’ that your hands can return to. The pocket heats up your whole hand including all the tips of your fingers with ease.
These warmers take several minutes to warm up, so be patient! It starts as a slow and steady heat that builds to a very comfortable temperature within 5 minutes. The heat lasts seemingly forever too, roughly 18 hours. Although in our trials, we noticed the heat starting to cool down after around 15 hours or so.
2. HotHands 10 Pair Value Pack

For hand warmers that fit into your glove, these are your best option. Not only are they small enough to fit into most winter gloves, they provide a very comfortable heat that won’t “burn” your hands.
These warmers are made in the USA and are of very high quality. They activate as soon as you take them out of the packet and last for a good 10 hours. We didn’t notice any of the heat decreasing until about 9 hours of use so the 10 hours is a very accurate reading.
Great for working in the cold weather!
3. Grabber 7+ Hour Hand Warmers

If you’re a sporting enthusiast then these warmers are your best bet. They are a little tougher than our first two options and made specifically for hard-use. They provide strong heat for 7 hours with an average temperature of 135F.
