*Note – Remember that the term “Slip ‘n Slide” is used to describe a product manufactured by the Wham-O brand. As one of many different types of water slides, it isn’t the only one included on our list simply because there are different brands out there who create the same type of toy, some of which are even better than the original Slip ‘n Slide.

How to Choose the Right Water Slide

After trying quite a few different brands of slides throughout the years, here are some of our top tips that will help make your search for the best slip and slide much easier.

  • Number of Lanes. If multiple users will be using the slide, then it might be fun to create a little competition by having two lanes.

Kids don’t always like waiting for their turn, so when you have several kids who can go at once, the turnaround time it much quicker.

  • Pool. Does it have a pool at the end? If so, how big is it?

Most slides have a small area at the end with a bumper to prevent kids from sliding right off the end, but products like the Wham-O Slip ‘n Slide Hydroplane Double have a larger pool for kids to splash around in once they reach the end.

  • Age Range & Length. Make sure you double check the manufacturer’s recommended age range for the slide. Short slides are usually best for younger kids since they probably can’t achieve the same amount of momentum as an adult can.

Adults also need more of a challenge, which means a longer slide, so avoid getting something too short for older kids or adults!

How Many Repair Patches Does It Come With?

Punctures and holes are almost guaranteed to happen, which is why it is helpful if the slide comes with a few repair patches.

If you run out of them, don’t give up on it completely because you might be able to try some DIY repairs if you research. Be sure to use the internet to your advantage, because some people have some pretty creative solutions out there!

Do You Need Boogie Boards?

Some kids might find sliding down the strip a bit difficult on their bellies, which is why you might consider getting some inflatable boogie boards or small, inflatable water toys that will help them move farther down the length of the shoot.

Some slides come with a few boards in the pack, but not all do so you might need to purchase them separately.

Make sure you avoid using rigid boards, as they will only puncture your slide.

Top 3 Best Slip and Slide Reviews

1. Wahii WaterSlide 75

While this may be the most expensive water slide on the list, it is also the longest.

The slide is very basic, with no pool at the end or water sprinklers anywhere on the sides. It’s just a sheet of plastic that you unroll, get wet, and then slide on in the yard!

It’s ideal for adults or kids with adult supervision, and you can place it pretty much anywhere. You can add small jumps along the shoot or put it on a hill to help you pick up some momentum.

The plastic they used is pretty thick on this product, and it is also UV protected. They provide you with brackets to help fix it to the ground, which can make it time-consuming to set up.

Once you do get everything ready to go, however, it really is loads of fun. It’s wide enough to accommodate several users at once, and kids of all ages (plus adults) will have a blast on it.

2. Team Magnus slip and slide

Our next pick is this 31-foot slide from Team Magnus.

They provide you with two lanes so you can race your opponent down the shoot, and it has an inflatable crash pad at the end with a central water sprinkling channel to help keep the surface constantly wet.

Some people want to try and use this on slopes, but we recommend that you leave it on flat ground or else opt for a gradual slope. The reason is that since you hook your hose up to it and let the water flow through the central channel, you’re not going to have enough water coming out the top of the shoot and much more on the bottom; this will result in a drier area at the beginning. It’s not going to feel good if you run and take a leap on a piece of dry plastic!

We like that they provide you with a handy repair kit, and the chances are that you’ll need it since rips and tears are bound to happen.

Overall, we felt it was a good purchase for the length and the quality. You’re not going to find anything from the Slip ‘n Slide brand that is this long!

3. Banzai 16ft-Long Speed Blast Water Slide

For younger kids or those with less yard space, Banzai’s Speed Blast Water Slide is a good choice.

It is 16 feet long and has a water channel down one side of the slide to help keep the surface constantly wet. It also has a mini pool at the end with a smaller water channel that will sprinkle the kids.

It’s not a bad deal, but it is definitely more delicate than the top product we tried. Slides where you attach the hose usually end up getting holes in them, and if you accidentally hit it the wrong way on the first jump, your fun could be over before it even starts.

Overall, it was a bit better than some of the other options, but if you want the best Slip ‘n Slide for kids, you might check out those from the Wham-o brand.
