This Panasonic LUMIX is a good-looking camera: it looks professional, but is not so large as to become unwieldy or awkward. In addition, it only weighs just over one pound so it is easy to maneuver and handle over long periods.
It can be purchased with or without a memory card, so if you already have one the purchase of the camera will be a little more cost effective, and you can still get started soon after unpacking all the components.
This camera is easy to use and I found that only needed to consult the instructions for information about the specialist things that the camera can do, such as the video function.
This is an excellent feature and enables video to be captured on either MPEG-4 or AVCHD, and the LCD screen on the back is a decent size so it is easy to determine the eventual result.
The file format for the still images is JPEG or MPO, so it is very convenient for transferring and viewing on other devices.
The 2x zoom is possible automatically or manually, which makes it easier to take a decent photo, as is the built-in flash.
A great camera that is suitable for photographers of all skill levels.
2. Canon PowerShot SX50
This Canon PowerShot digital camera comes in a number of different colors, but I got the black one as I’m not keen on devices that are too conspicuous.
The black one suited my style and alongside the camera, the package includes a battery pack, charger, neck strap, lens cap, CD and warranty.
The battery needed to be charged before you could start using it, but once that was done you could immediately start taking photos.
It benefits from many different features, including a number of shooting modes and effects that can be used to improve the images. While this is excellent, it all comes with the real danger that you could spend hours playing about with this for hours.
It enables you to be really creative in order to end up with pictures that you want to show off.
I would say that I took around 300 photos before the battery needed to be recharged, which takes a few hours.
The minimum shutter speed is 15 seconds, so it is not ideal for action shots, but the images I did take in different lights were lovely.

This Sony DSC-RX100 digital camera looks deceptive as it looks so plain, you cannot imagine it being capable of much.
In fact, it is a good little camera that is not showy about it as it comprises all the features that can be found on other cameras.
The compact unit has a built-in pop-up flash and a generously sized LCD screen, which makes it easy to view and capture any proposed images before committing to them.
The autofocus ability is very effective and uses 25 focal points. In addition, the exposure controls are numerous and make for a camera that is easy to use, even for those with little experience of taking photographs.
It has a 14x digital zoom that enabled me to achieve some shots that contained excellent detail without having to get myself into dangerous or awkward positions.
The exposure types meant that I could take photos within a wide range of conditions, including those that are not always ideal for taking photos, but I still managed to get some shots that I could show off.
A decent little camera that can be considered one of the best cameras for both size and quality of photos.
