3 Best Coffee Makers Reviews

1. Zojirushi EC-YSC100

Having been known to be clumsy enough to break coffee makers in the past, I was keen to try one that didn’t comprise any glass.

The brushed stainless steel looks stylish and understated in my kitchen, which I like.

My first cup of the first brew was a delight – tasted just right and was the right temperature.

Though it was comforting enough that I was tempted to immediately have a second cup after finishing my first, I resisted in order to test the claims made by Zojirushi. Namely, that the coffee can be kept warm for hours by the carafe.

I was pleasantly surprised by the temperature of the coffee that I drank an hour after the first one

It does not have too large a footprint, so it does not need much counter space, however, it is a little tall, and so it may not be suitable for spaces where you have low cupboards.

Overall, an excellent coffee maker that I would be happy to have in my kitchen.

2. Melitta CM-10/6

This Melitta coffeemaker is compact, even the package in which it arrives is smaller than I expected.

Maybe it is because I was used to the actual machine that brews coffee, but this is a drip-feed coffee maker that needs nothing more than the carafe, the brewing cone and filters.

It is possible to immediately start using it once the package is received (after giving it a quick rinse) as there are five filters included. It uses #6 filters, which can be positioned in place by slipped it into the brewing cone and it is immediately ready to use.

I use an attachment for my food processer to grind fresh coffee beans, which I then tip into the filter-lined cone.

Following that, I only needed to gently pour hot water into the cone and let it drip through.

It is so ridiculously easy to use that I was not expecting the coffee to be anything special, despite using my favorite beans. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the resulting brew was as rich and flavorful as it always is when I make it in an electric coffee maker.

A cost effective, easy way to make great coffee at home.

3. Moccamaster KBG 741

This Moccamaster coffee maker comes in a range of colors and I got the silver one, which looks really professional and is a stylish addition to the kitchen counter.

It initially seems a little intimidating, as it looks so different from other coffee makers I have used before, which prompted me to read the instructions when I would ordinarily jump straight in and start using a new item.

There was no need for me to be intimidated as it is easy to use and works well.

It is a coffee maker that is handmade and with the use of it, you can tell that you are using a quality product.

The package comprises several different components and it includes a hot plate to maintain the temperature after brewing, which is between 176 and 185 degrees.

The cone-shaped brew basket is designed for optimum coffee brewing and benefits from a drip stop function. However, I did not find this necessary as it only takes six minutes to brew a full carafe.

I also like the automatic cut off feature, which kicks in after 100 minutes in case I ever forget to turn it off.

I like the carafe as the spout is deep enough for a nice clean pour and I did not suffer any drips.

One of the best coffee makers for continual cups of rich, tasty coffee.
